Give your Flat-Coated Retriever a special place to lay its sleepy head. With soft, low-loft fleece on the front and durable black denim on the back, this pillow has a fun design describing your favorite breed using only words that begin with F, C, and R. There are three neutrals and three brights to choose from to accommodate many tastes, whether you prefer one in your favorite color, the color you “assigned” your dog, or something to match your home’s decor.

At 24” wide, the pillow is a perfect fit for a 24” x 36” dog bed or crate. While this item was developed for dogs, you can use it as a decor pillow, too. An invisible zipper makes the outer cover removable for cleaning; the insert is a resilient, cushy poly-fiber with a non-woven cover that prevents the growth of bacteria. Rad, right?

ABOUT THE ART +

(Flat-Wear founder/designer, Jennifer):
I fell in love with typography during my formative college years and it has defined my professional work ever since. So it’s no surprise I would dream up a Flat-Wear item that only required type (with more to come, I’m sure). I had a good time culling every F, C, and R word that could describe a Flat-Coated Retriever, then plucking out ones that fit together into appropriately quirky phrases and some other favorites to help cover different aspects of the breed.

Next steps included choosing the font and deciding how to color the letters (I’ll gloss over that and pretend I didn’t drive myself crazy), the challenging task of getting the pieces of the word puzzle to fit the space properly, and choosing the main colors. The eleventh hour addition of violet turned out to be a good choice; it was the best-selling color at Flat-Wear’s launch at the 2018 Flat-Coated Retriever National Specialty.
